About Dr. Hamilton
Born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, S. Sutton Hamilton, M.D. has provided
a standard of excellence for the Princeton psychiatric community for
over thirty years. After graduating Phi
Beta Kappa from the
University of Pittsburgh, he received his medical doctorate from
their School
of Medicine in 1961, and he was inducted into the Alpha
Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his residency
at the University
of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1966, serving as chief resident
in his last year. Dr. Hamilton has maintained a private practice since
1968, when he completed two years in the U.S. Navy. In 1970, Dr. Hamilton
was appointed residency director for the Department of Psychiatry
at the University of Pennsylvania. He left Penn in 1976 to serve as
the medical director of Princeton
House for nearly twenty years. He was simultaneously appointed
chairman of the Department of Psychiatry of The
Medical Center of Princeton. He is currently an associate clinical
professor at the Robert
Wood Johnson Medical School of the University of Medicine and
Dentistry of New Jersey.
